National Garden Scheme
In June 2011 we opened the garden for the first time, as part of the National Garden Scheme (NGS). Since then we have raised over £98,000 for the NGS and associated charities.

Directions
The Old Vicarage is located 1 mile from Oakham in Rutland. There are good transport links; we are 10 minutes from the A1.

Directions:
From the A1 southbound:
Follow signs off the A1 towards Oakham on the B668. Two miles after passing through Cottesmore, turn left into Church Road. The Old Vicarage is the first on the left.
From the A1 northbound:
Turn off the A1 on the A606 and follow signs for Rutland Water. After 6.5 miles, turn right at Barnsdale Lodge. After 0.5 miles turn left following signs for Burley on the Hill. At the end of the road turn left on to the B668 and drive for 0.5 miles then left onto Church Road. The Old Vicarage is the first house on the left.
From Oakham:
From Oakham follow signposts for Cottesmore on the B668. At the top of the hill, one mile after leaving Oakham turn right in to Church Road. The Old Vicarage is the first house on the left.
Parking:
Visitors are asked to park on the grass verges in Church Road immediately after the Old Vicarage gates. During peak times, such the NGS events, there my be overflow space provided at Burley House this will be signposted and people will be there to help.
Visitors with disabilities:
For private visits, visitors with disabilities are able to park in the Old Vicarage drive. During the busy NGS events, arrangements can be made to allow people with limited mobility to be dropped off, although cars will then have to be parked in the usual spaces provided in Church Road. Please note that there are steps and gravel paths in the garden, which are not accessible by wheelchair. Access is possible to all of the main areas by other routes, so please ask.
